Former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, lauded Femi Adesina’s book, titled “Working With Buhari; Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023),” as a “wise and proactive” account of his experiences at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Osinbajo expressed admiration for the book’s quality and the speed at which it was produced during a presentation in Lagos over the weekend.
Scheduled for launch on January 16, 2024, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, the book captures Adesina’s insider perspective on the Buhari administration just seven months after leaving office. Osinbajo emphasized the importance of Adesina defining the narrative early, considering his insider knowledge.
Osinbajo praised the book as a “personal discussion with Nigerians about who President Buhari was,” emphasizing Adesina’s role as the one who “best represents who the (former) President was.” Describing it as an “honest account,” Osinbajo highlighted the richness of information and the care taken for an in-depth analysis.
Osinbajo said;
“I think it is a very wise and proactive approach. I think it is wise to do so especially because he was an insider. He has all the information about the personal issues, personal details that are covered in the book. It is the right thing to do, so that he defines the narrative ahead, and anyone else who wants to write would have to use this as their soft material. Obviously, this is the most reliable account of his experiences in there.”
The launch is expected to be attended by prominent figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour, former President Muhammadu Buhari as Special Guest, and General Yakubu Gowon and General I.B.M. Haruna as Chairman and Co-Chairman. Additionally, a royal delegation from the Saudi Arabia Royal Family, led by HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Faisal Al Saud, will grace the occasion, with Alhaji Mohammed Indimi as the Chief Launcher.
