Renowned Nollywood actress and producer, Funke Akindele, joyfully shared the success of her latest movie, “A Tribe Called Judah,” as it reached an impressive N1 billion in cinemas.
FilmOne Entertainment, her production partner, officially announced this achievement on January 4, 2024.
Akindele who also directed the second and third highest-grossing Nollywood films, “Battle on Buka Street” (668 million) and “Omo Ghetto: The Saga” (636 million), expressed gratitude on her Instagram page.
Moses Babatope, the Group Deputy Managing Director of FilmHouse Group, emphasized that Akindele’s milestone signifies a golden era for Nigerian cinema.
Despite global competition from streaming platforms, he highlighted the thriving local content engaging audiences on a grand scale.
In her Instagram post, Akindele exuberantly exclaimed, “Thank you LORD!!! Thank you NIGERIA!! Thank you GHANA!!.”
