The Black Galaxies of Ghana have qualified for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) holding in Algeria next year after beating Nigeria 5-4 in a thrilling penalty shootout.
This will be the second occasion this year Ghana will be stopping a national team from Nigeria from qualifying for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Earlier, the Super Eagles B team defied the heavy rainfall in Abuja to train ahead of the clash.

The Eagles began the one hour thirty minutes training at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja at 6 p.m. and finished at 7. 30 p.m.
Among those who watched the training was Shehu Dikko, NFF’s Second Vice-President and Chairman of the League Management Committee (LMC), alongside Super Eagles Head Coach, Jose Peseiro.
With the determination to overthrow the 2 goals deficit, Nigeria came back in the game after scoring twice in the final 15 minutes of the second half, first through Zulkilful Mohammad in the 76th minute while the equaliser came through Chijoke Akuneto in added time.
The game went straight to penalties, and while Ghana scored all five, Maurice Ugochukwu missed his penalty; knocking the Eagles out of the CHAN 2023 tournament, which will be held in Algeria.
