Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has approved the allocation of N140 million as car, motorcycle and furniture loans to civil servants in the state.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday in Birnin Kebbi by the Commissioner for Finance, Ibrahim Muhammad-Augie.
Mr Muhammad-Augie said the interest-free loan is to be disbursed to eligible civil servants in respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to be repaid within five years.
“The gesture by the governor is part of his sustained efforts to boost the morale of civil servants towards improving their performance.
“Civil servants are therefore expected to reciprocate this kind gesture by the governor by being dedicated to their duties,” the commissioner said.
