Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has announced that contractors have commenced the reconstruction of the Port Harcourt Road project in Aba.
Speaking during the occasion, Governor Otti expressed his unwavering commitment towards bringing the road back to its former glory and enhancing its economic viability.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the project is not for a political show but rather an effort to bring development in the state.
Asides from the governor, his wife, Mrs. Preciliar Otti, and the Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu were all in attendance, including other top government officials during the flag off of the project which was awarded to Julius Berger (contractor).
The flag off was symbolically marked by Governor Otti, who mounted one of the bulldozers and started the engine while addressing the excited crowd who came out to witness the exercise
Meanwhile, he noted that the event aims to take another strategic move towards achieving one of his major campaign promises, which is to revive the long-abandoned commercial activity along that corridor
He emphasized that once the project is completed the road would further drive the economic rejuvenation and transformation of Aba into investors haven.
