Former Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt, widely regarded as the world’s greatest athlete, has congratulated Tobi Amusan following her record-breaking 100m hurdles win at the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Eugene, USA.
In a post on Twitter, Bolt described Amusan as “superb”.
The Quest Times reports that Amusan broke the 100m hurdles record on Monday, July 25, 2022, setting a new WR of 12.12s in the semi-finals while going on to win the gold medal in the finals with a time of 12.06s which wasn’t recognised as a WR due to wind assistance.
Bolt’s reaction is in contrast to that of former US sprinter, Micheal Johnson who questioned Amusan’s achievement, citing possible faulty timing.
In the light of Amusan’s exploits, a dazed Bolt took to his official Twitter handle @usainbolt posting, “wow”
