Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Adebowale “Debo” Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has revealed a death threat he received over his overt support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
Mr Macaroni took to his Instagram page to post a screenshot of the death threat he received via mail.
It reads, ”Omo ale Yoruba. You have been watched around Lekki and the environs. If you survive this year, then thank whatsoever god you are worshipping.”
In response, Mr Macaroni belittled the unknown user and informed him that he has received numerous threats from people with significant influence and power, including politicians and their children. Despite these threats, Mr Macaroni has refused to compromise his principles and has remained committed to his cause.
“I am already used to threats!” he stated.
“I have a record of all threats I have received, I also have recorded calls and messages of powerful politicians and their children that have ever reached out to me!!! I always said No! Because as long as I still Dey, there shall be NO COMPROMISE!”
Mr Macaroni’s unwavering commitment to his activism and his refusal to be silenced by threats has earned him the respect and admiration of many Nigerians.
However, it is concerning that individuals who express their opinions on important issues in Nigeria are being subjected to violence and intimidation.
