A brave Nigerian military woman, Ruth Ogunleye, has shared a distressing experience, accusing her superiors, including Col. IB Abdulkareem, Col. GS Ogor, and Brig. Gen. IB Solebo, of making her life unbearable.
As spotted by Quest Times, Ogunleye, known as @Ogunleyeruthsavage1 on TikTok, revealed that Col. Abdulkareem allegedly harassed her, attempted assaults, administered unwarranted injections, forcibly relocated her, and confined her to a psychiatric hospital.
She claimed he hindered her career advancement due to rejecting his advances.
“In 2022, I was posted to Cantonment Medical Centre, Ojo, where I met Col IB Abdulkareem who requested sex from me and I refused. Ever since then, this man has been my nightmare in the Army, threatening to dismiss me each time,”she stated.
Ogunleye pleaded for support, revealing her father’s attempt to intervene and the officer’s disturbing ultimatum to “Obey the last command,” interpreted as a demand for intimate relations.
Despite potential consequences, she urged Nigerians for assistance, as the Nigerian Army promised to investigate her allegations.
Moreover, the Director of Army Public Relations, Maj. Gen. Nwachukwu Onyema, emphasized a thorough investigation into the matter and called for patience from the public.
“We urge the public to allow the investigative process to take its course and refrain from making hasty judgments. The NA remains dedicated to serving our nation with honour and integrity,” he stated.
