Dele Momodu, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on the party’s leadership to address the alleged actions of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, who Momodu claims has been working against the party’s interests.
Momodu expressed concern over Wike’s purported efforts against the PDP during the 2023 presidential election, accusing him of supporting President Bola Tinubu over the party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during his tenure as Governor of Rivers.
Wike, staunch in his commitment to the PDP, boldly asserted that the party’s leadership lacks the authority to penalize him for what he perceives as defending the party’s principles.
Surprisingly, Wike took on a ministerial role in Tinubu’s government, contrary to the PDP’s stance. The discord within the party further intensified as 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, aligned with Wike, defected to the APC amid the political turmoil.
In a recent interview on Arise News, Momodu emphasized that the PDP leadership must not turn a blind eye to Wike’s alleged transgressions. He asserted that if given the authority, he would have taken disciplinary action against Wike sooner.
In his words: “If I had the power, I would have punished Wike long ago. The PDP leadership must have its reasons for keeping him while he continues to trouble the party.
