It was a tragedy on Thursday, November 10, as a young lady in her 30s committed suicide by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.
Quest Times reports that the woman had disembarked from a cab and headed towards the railing of the bridge.
She was said to have consequently plunged into the water.
The young lady identified as Adetutu Adedokun is a personnel of the Department of State Services, DSS. She worked as non-combatant personnel and had just been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent, according to a reliable source.

In addition, the award-winning DSS instructor represented the Service in a sporting activity and had won the Director General’s award of the best non-combatant personnel.
As a result of her positive vibes, she had the rare privilege of posing for a photograph with the Director General of the DSS, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, CFR.
Interestingly, she recently got proposed to by her boyfriend. The marriage proposal was at a hotel in Lagos, with a number of her friends and family present. A source said the event where her boyfriend knelt and proposed, held just last week.
According to reports, “the driver of the taxi claimed she was having a heated conversation with her fiance before alighting from the car”.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has already deployed its rescue team to search for the lady at the time of filing this report.
