The Labour Party (LP) in Imo State has distanced itself from the ongoing inspection of election materials by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
LP Chairman Mr Callistus Ihejiagwa, despite a court order facilitating the inspection, expresses disappointment, citing a lack of agreed-upon rules with other involved parties.
Ihejiagwa asserts that the absence of communication from INEC regarding available materials hampers a legitimate inspection process, leaving LP unable to proceed.
Echoing these concerns, PDP’s legal representative, Mr Gozie Nwachukwu, criticized the disorganized nature of the inspection process and called for a reorganization by INEC to ensure effectiveness and satisfaction for all stakeholders involved.
Meanwhile, the inspection venue sees a notable presence of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, voicing their solidarity through intermittent chants.
