Immediate Past Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, GCON, accompanied by his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, yesterday attend the public Thanksgiving Event and Recognition by the Ikenne Development Association in Ikenne, Ogun State on Sunday.
The kinsmen of former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo had showered encomiums on him as they welcomed him back home after eight years of serving the country.
Osinbajo who hails from Ikenne in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State was welcomed back home at a public thanksgiving and appreciation reception held on Sunday.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, who at the reception commended Osinbajo for “his outstanding role towards achieving a successful poll in the state during the 2019 General elections, promised that the state government under his administration would continue to be proud of Osinbajo’s sterling leadership while in office
The public thanksgiving and appreciation reception was organised in honour of Osinbajo by the Ikenne Development Association.
Abiodun described the former vice-president as a man of “impeccable character,” whose eight years, he said, engendered positive development to the entire country.
The Governor narrated that Osinbajo’s “trail blazing records in good governance and public administration were inherited from the former Premier of Western Region, Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo”, adding that Osinbajo had raised the bar.
He commended the Law Professor for his “unwavering loyalty” to President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
However, the governor of Bayelsa, Duoye Diri, his counterpart from Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, in their separate remarks, described Osinbajo as a detribalised man, who they said served the nation meritoriously.
