On Monday, a distressing incident unfolded in Emure, Ekiti State, as armed bandits abducted schoolchildren of Apostolic Faith School along with their head teacher and driver.
The children were abducted while returning to Eporo Ekiti from Emure on their school bus after regular school hours.
This unfortunate event follows the recent killings of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State, adding to the growing concern about security in the region.
Quest Times earlier reported that bandits, suspected to be herdsmen, ambushed and killed Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, David Babatunde, and Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Ogunsakin Olushola, while they were returning from Ogbe, a neighboring town in Kogi State. Their bodies were later discovered along a bush path, prompting Governor Biodun Oyebanji to issue a directive to security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators.
