Ololade Akeredolu, one of the daughters of the late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, stirred a bit of commotion when reporters gathered at her father’s Ibadan residence for coverage. The incident unfolded during the condolence visit of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
Late Governor Akeredolu, who battled Leukemia, passed away on Wednesday morning. Ololade, reportedly uneasy with the influx of journalists, insisted they vacate the premises, emphasizing that it was a private residence, not a Government House.
Governors Abdulrazaq and Makinde, paying their respects at the Jericho residence, encountered the tense moment when Ololade requested privacy for her grieving family. Fortunately, colleagues intervened, calming the frustrated reporters stationed at the entrance gates.
Acknowledging the sensitivity of the situation, the governors exited the private residence and addressed the waiting journalists on the street. Governor Abdulrazaq praised the late governor for his dedication and significant contributions, recognizing his profound impact on developmental politics and humanity.
