Governor Godwin Obaseki has assured full support for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chosen candidate in the upcoming 2024 governorship election in Edo State.
Amidst rumors, Governor Obaseki dismissed any discord with Deputy Governor Philip Shuaibu, highlighting their harmony. Obaseki stated, “There is no issue between me and my deputy. He is free to contest, and we are not asking him to drop his ambition.”
When questioned about his preferred candidate, Obaseki affirmed, “I will support whoever the party supports,” reinforcing his commitment to the party’s decision.
During the meeting, PDP’s acting national chairman, Umar Damagum, revealed a unanimous agreement among Edo State stakeholders to collaborate. Damagum stated, “Edo is now one family,” emphasizing unity and cooperation.
Aspirant Asue Ighodalo echoed the sentiment of unity, expressing confidence in the PDP’s victory in the upcoming election. He remarked, “The party’s leadership spoke in line with unity, and our people should expect continuous great governance in our state under the PDP.”
