Kenneth Josiah Omeruo is a Nigerian professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Kasımpaşa in the Süper Lig and the Nigeria national team.
Initially joining Chelsea from Standard Liège in January 2012, Omeruo was loaned to ADO Den Haag.

Kenneth Josiah Omeruo was born on October 17th, 1993 and hails from Abia State, Nigeria.
Growing up in the southeastern part of Nigeria, Omeruo’s passion for football ignited in his parents’ sitting room. With the encouragement of his mother, he began his football journey by playing for his school team, participating in various local competitions such as the Shell Cup and grassroots tournaments.

Starting his professional career in Nigeria, Omeruo played for Sunshine Stars of Akure before venturing abroad to join the Anderlecht Academy.
Subsequently, he moved to Standard Liege in Belgium. In January 2012, Chelsea, an English club, signed him.
Omeruo’s time at Chelsea has been marked by numerous loan spells. Shortly after joining Chelsea, he was loaned to ADO Den Haag in the Dutch league, making his debut on March 3rd, 2012.
In an Eredivisie match against VVV Venlo on April 28th, 2012, Omeruo made history by scoring a goal, an own goal, and receiving a red card, all in one match.
He later embarked on loan spells with Middlesbrough in England, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor in Turkey, showcasing his versatility as a defender.
International Career
Omeruo represented Nigeria at various levels, starting with the U-20 team in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia. He made his senior debut for the Nigerian national team on January 9, 2013.
Notably, he played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2013 African Cup of Nations, featuring in all seven matches of the tournament. He also represented Nigeria in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
