Election workers assigned to polling units in Lokoja, Kogi State, find themselves stranded at Ajayi Crowther Memorial School. The workers, including corps members and ad-hoc staff, arrived at the school to collect materials for the November 11 governorship elections.
However, a challenge arose as no transportation was provided by INEC, leaving the officials stuck after receiving the electoral materials. An official mentioned that their only hope for reaching the polling units lies in the voters organizing transportation for them.
Presently, the situation is critical, with only three mini-buses available to transport over 200 electoral officials. The lack of transportation raises concerns about the smooth conduct of the elections in the state.
