The Kwara State Polytechnic has disassociated itself from the suspects, Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies, who were apprehended by the Nigeria Police on charges related to the murder of a club owner, Adeniyi Ojo, in Ilorin hotel.
Issuing an official statement titled, “Re: How we killed club owner in hotel – Female Student,” the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, released an official response on Thursday.
The statement issued by the Polytechnic declared, “The Management wishes to categorically reject the disreputable and unfounded news concerning the institution. It should be noted that the suspects currently paraded in Abuja by the force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, are not affiliated with Kwara State Polytechnic.”
The Polytechnic’s management firmly emphasized that their students serve as commendable representatives of the institution, the state, and the nation at large, and are unequivocally incapable of engaging in such illicit activities.
The institution further refuted the claim that the suspects were enrolled as students at the polytechnic, dismissing it as untrue, groundless, and an invention of falsehoods intended to tarnish the impeccable reputation of the institution.
The registrar of the institution went on to urge all stakeholders within the Polytechnic and members of the press to exercise caution and verify any information associated with the institution before disseminating it.
