Stakeholders from the North Central region within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are stepping up their efforts to secure the national chairmanship position in the party, amidst ongoing challenges faced by Governor Ganduje.
The push comes in response to the party’s decision to allocate the chairmanship seat to the North Central ahead of the 2023 elections. However, disruptions emerged when Abdullahi Adamu, representing Nasarawa State in the North Central, resigned last year.
Sources within the APC disclosed to Leadership that the exclusion of the North Central from the chairmanship position has sparked dissatisfaction among some members from the region. Despite maintaining composure out of respect for the president, there is a growing determination among them to address the issue.
Salihu Lukman, a former national vice chairman of the APC, recently called for the return of the national chairmanship seat to the North Central. His statement has garnered significant support from party leaders in the region.
