In a tragic incident at Ago motor park in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, a Computer Science graduate, Oluwatosin Onadipe, met an untimely demise after allegedly being struck with an iron rod by an official while preaching on the premises.
Quest Times reports that Oluwatosin who had left home on December 17 to attend a programme at the Redemption Camp, was reported missing when efforts to reach him proved futile, while his phone was later found on the roadside in Ode-Remo, sparking suspicions.
Following a series of events, it was revealed that his body had been buried along the roadside by health workers from Odogbolu Local Government Area.
Speaking with newsmen, the father, Raymond Onadipe, expressed concern over the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
“On Monday (December 25), I was called that those who picked the phone took the police to where they picked it from, but they discovered that a corpse was buried along the roadside by health workers from Odogbolu Local Government Area, which was said to be his corpse, and that I have two options of either exhuming his body or leaving it where it was buried,” he said.
Initial reports suggested a hit-and-run accident, but a twist emerged when an eyewitness claimed Oluwatosin was allegedly struck by a motor park official while preaching.
Moreover, the police initially denied picking him up, but subsequent evidence revealed blood on his body.
Raymond Onadipe, urging the police to bring the culprits to justice, revealed his anguish, stating, “I have been in sorrow since I learned about his death.”
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed the incident, assuring that the suspects were in custody, and a preliminary investigation was underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding Oluwatosin’s tragic death.
