The Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Foundation has come to the aid of ailing Nigerian actor, John Mr. Ibu Okafor.
The actor, who has been battling with an undisclosed illness, found himself in a dire situation that prompted him to seek financial assistance.
Mr. Ibu’s plea for financial aid, shared on Instagram, stirred emotions among the public and ignited a wave of generosity. His condition, captured in a video that circulated on the internet, prompted numerous individuals to step forward with donations.
However, the most significant relief came from the ABS Foundation. In a statement released on a Friday, the foundation proudly declared that they had covered “all medical expenses” for Mr. Ibu as of the previous Wednesday.
It reads:
“The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is honoured to have extended support to Mr. John Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu, a renowned comedic icon who has graced our screens and brought joy and laughter to countless homes over the past four decades,” the statement reads.
“When we learned of his recent health challenges and the financial burdens associated with his medical treatment, we felt a deep sense of responsibility to assist in any way we could. We promptly paid off his entire medical expenses as of Wednesday.”
