N-Power beneficiaries have received assurances from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation regarding their overdue 8-month back pay.
In a recent development reported by Quest Times, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, Akindele Eghuwalo, conveyed this message after a meeting with representatives of the beneficiaries.
Eghuwalo revealed that the necessary funds have been successfully recovered, and the disbursements will commence shortly. He also disclosed that Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has been actively addressing irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment initiatives.
Eghuwalo stated, “The good news is that the funds have been recovered as of yesterday, and you will be receiving your payments soon. Payment for N-Power Beneficiaries of Batch C, who have been owed for eight months, will commence in the near future.”
He acknowledged that these irregularities had caused some to lose faith in the government’s ability to provide social safety nets, but Dr. Betta Edu is dedicated to resolving these issues and fulfilling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Mandate for Nigerians.
Eghuwalo further acknowledged that numerous irregularities had hindered the smooth implementation of the program but assured that the Minister is resolute in rectifying them and expanding the program to benefit 5 million young Nigerians.
He implored young Nigerians to be patient, emphasizing that the ongoing restructuring is in their best interest, and he emphasized President Tinubu’s commitment to poverty eradication and delivering on his promises.
