The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has debunked recent rumors circulating on social media about plans to raise the petrol price to N1,200 per litre.
In response to these speculations, NNPC clarified that there are no intentions to increase fuel prices amidst the challenging economic conditions in the country.
According to NNPC’s Group Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company issued a brief statement today, stating; “NNPC Ltd emphasises it has not clashed with any party. The Punch headline is deemed unfortunate. The publication sought confirmation on the alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that the subsidy has been entirely removed.”
Contrary to the circulating misinformation, NNPC affirms its commitment to maintaining the current fuel pricing without any imminent adjustments.
