The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has closed down the office of Igbinoba Jennifer, who runs Jenny’s Glow in Abuja.
A video online shows NAFDAC officials sealing the office because her line of skincare products is apparently not registered with the Agency.
There are claims that she used a fake NAFDAC registration number to sell her products. This follows an incident a few weeks ago when a client accused her on social media of selling fake products that harmed her skin.
Amaka Duru, also known as Amaka Gurl, made a video on TikTok calling out Igbinoba. Later, Amaka was reportedly taken away by the police from her parents’ home for calling out Igbinoba.
Amaka’s sister also criticized Igbinoba for allegedly having her sister arrested. She placed curses on Igbinoba and warned that nothing should happen to her sister.
Other users of Jenny Glow’s products also commented, saying they received fake products. A few weeks after these events, NAFDAC officials went to seal Jenny’s Glow office.
In response, Igbinoba shared her NAFDAC registration certificate on Instagram and presented her side of the story. She clarified that her office wasn’t sealed, but some products were put on hold until they get approved. She pointed out that some of her products have been approved for years and emphasized their safety.
Igbinoba also mentioned that people who are against her brand are spreading this news, but she is determined to overcome these challenges.
“The Abuja store was not sealed. It’s just some of the products that were put on hold on the shelves, pending their approval.
“Some of our products, including, Whitening lotion, French scrub, black soap, have already been approved for years now.
“These other products are pending for approval. It takes time but we are still working with NAFDAC on their approvals.
“We shall overcome. Thanks for your loyalty and support. Our products are safe, they took it to the lab and it came out great.
“The only thing remaining is to get all our certificates. Our products are safe for use.
“Obviously some enemies of the brand are sponsoring these guys on TikTok to defame us by paying blogs and posting false information,” she wrote.
