The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has outlined its budget for the year 2024, revealing a significant allocation of N8 billion for both local and international trips, according to the government-owned entities’ (GOEs) budget proposal disclosed on Friday.
This financial plan surfaces a week after the national assembly’s approval of the 2024 appropriation bill, which expanded from President Bola Tinubu’s initial proposal of N27.5 trillion to N28.7 trillion.
In the broader national budget, the federal government assigned N1.7 trillion for statutory transfers, N8.7 trillion for recurrent expenditure, and N9.9 trillion for capital expenditure.
The NCAA’s proposed expenditure of N272.87 billion anticipates a revenue of N372.22 billion for the year. Notably, N8,342,547,767 is earmarked for “travels and transport.”
A closer look at the breakdown reveals N3,310,009,756 allocated for “local transport and travels for training” and N4,317,070,233 for international transport. Additionally, N715,467,778 is designated for “local travels and others,” while N1,935,000,000 is set aside as a contribution to international organizations.
The remaining budgetary components encompass the acquisition of vehicles (N3,000,000,000), procurement of furniture and office fittings (N1,352,997,000), construction of office buildings (N3,970,000,000), and provision of electricity (N1,205,000,000).
