Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is currently engaged in discussions with Al Hilal regarding the potential sale of Neymar, as the Brazilian international expresses his readiness for a move to Saudi Arabia.
PSG is seeking a substantial transfer fee for Neymar, who was acquired from Barcelona for a world-record £200 million, a move that would aid their compliance with financial fair play regulations.
At 31 years old, Neymar is reportedly not a central figure in the plans of new head coach Luis Enrique as he shapes a rejuvenated team. PSG is open to selling Neymar to refocus their efforts on building a younger, more determined squad.
Interestingly, Al Hilal has also made attempts to secure signings of other prominent players such as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe during this summer transfer window.
Mbappe had conveyed to PSG on Friday that he would not leave the club under any circumstances during this transfer window. In response, the club had initially indicated that he would be excluded from the first-team squad.
However, on Sunday, PSG permitted Mbappe to resume training with the first team after he reaffirmed his commitment to the club and its values.
In recent times, PSG had received a £258 million offer from Al Hilal for Mbappe, but the young forward declined the one-year move to Saudi Arabia. PSG holds the belief that Mbappe has already reached an agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.
