Most Nigerian workers are suffering and on the verge of giving up, the Congress of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (CSCSN) has cried out to the Federal Government.
In a statement, the group said the prices of goods and services have gone up in recent times.
The group advised the federal government to intervene without wasting any more time.
The union noted that the need to intervene is necessary so as to avoid nationwide protests by labour unions across the country.
CSCSN convener, Comrade Andrew Emelieze, made these disclosures in a statement on Friday.
He added that the intervention of the federal government has become necessary in view of the untold hardship Nigerian workers are presently subjected to.
Emelieze said; “We want to use this opportunity to also call on the federal government to as a matter of urgency intervene in the plight of the Nigerian workers in the face of a crippling economy.
“Especially as it concerns civil servants who are suffering in silence.
“If this hostile situation continues, civil servants might be compelled to protest.”
