The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerian workers that they will no longer endure inhumane conditions at work.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio conveyed his commitment to collaborating with the executive arm of government to ensure fair wages and improved working conditions.
“No Nigerian worker will again be allowed to work under inhuman conditions. We will do everything to give you the best because you deserve the best,” declared the Senate President.
Akpabio extended his congratulations to workers as they observed the 2024 May Day, highlighting the qualities of patriotism, hard work, resilience, and dedication exhibited by Nigerian workers. He emphasized his personal experience of witnessing the unwavering spirit of Nigerian workers over the past 25 years.
Addressing this year’s theme, “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate,” Akpabio assured that the National Assembly, under his leadership, is fully committed to enhancing working conditions. He affirmed that this theme aligns with international best practices and pledged that Nigeria would remain at the forefront of progress in this regard.
The theme for this year’s celebration is apt and in tune with international best practices.
