The police in Ogun State have taken into custody Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, after he failed to comply with a 72-hour ultimatum to present himself to the authorities.
The Quest Times reports that Portable had been seen in viral videos where he was shown cursing and aggressively confronting the police officers who came to arrest him at his bar in Ogun state.
According to Portable, the officers were unjustly harassing himself and his staff, but the police stated that they acted on a petition.
Displeased by the conduct of Portable toward the officers, the Ogun Police command through its PRO revealed that the singer had ignored five invitations from the Police, giving him 72 hours to report to the Police Headquarters in Eleweran.
In the latest development on the issue, the Ogun Police PRO SP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed Portable’s arrest on Friday, stating that the self-acclaimed “Baboon” is currently at state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Portable will remain in police custody till Monday, April 3, 2023, when he will be charged in court.
