No fewer than eight hundred and thirty-six Nigerians fleeing war-torn Sudan have arrived on Sunday in Abuja.
They were airlifted via Max Air, Azman and Tarco Airlines.
Max Air and Azman Air landed with 410 and 324 evacuees respectively with stranded Nigerians from Aswan, Egypt.
Tarco airlifted 102 Nigerians from Port Sudan.
It was learnt that they were airlifted from Aswan International Airport, Egypt, and arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday around 10:30am local time.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), while giving a brief update on the arrival of the evacuees, said Air Peace and Azman Air are also expected to bring in another batch of the evacuees later.
The commission noted that no Nigerian has lost their life so far in Sudan since the war and evacuation process started.
