The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, was conspicuously absent at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign rally in Ibadan, the state capital.
The Quest Times reports that Makinde is a member of the aggrieved G-5 Governors (the integrity group), demanding the resignation of the national chairman of PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, as a condition to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The rally at the historic Mapo Hall attracted the national leadership of the party.
The party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa were joined by Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto); Ademola Adeleke (Osun); Godwin Obaseki (Edo) and Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom).

It would be recalled that former Governor Ayodele Fayose and some of his loyalists, especially those contesting Senatorial and House of Representatives seats on the platform of the party, shunned the PDP presidential rally in Ekiti.
