Some political party candidates at the ongoing Abakaliki North Constituency Supplementary election, have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the exercise.
The parties include; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and the Labour Party (LP) in Ebonyi State.
The candidates accused some officials of Nigeria’s electoral umpire of colluding with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and security agents to rig the poll.
The Quest Times had reported how at least four people were arrested by Police in connection to the murder of a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Peter Nweke, at Umuezeokaoha community in the Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Nweke was said to have been tortured to death by hoodlums suspected to be loyalists of a rival party on March 18, 2023, the day of the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections in the state.
The Ebonyi State Police Command, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya on Friday, confirmed the arrest.
