The People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is set to have his appeal heard in the Supreme Court starting on Monday, October 23, 2023.
Atiku, who secured the second position in the election, had previously petitioned the presidential election tribunal to annul the results of the February 25 election, in which Bola Tinubu was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Nevertheless, the tribunal dismissed Atiku’s petition, citing a lack of merit.
Unsatisfied with the lower court’s decision, Atiku subsequently filed an appeal with the Supreme Court.
In a notice issued on Thursday, the Supreme Court Registrar, Zainab Garba, confirmed that Atiku’s appeal has been scheduled for a hearing on Monday.
It read, ”Take notice that the above appeal/motion will be listed for hearing before the Supreme Court of Nigeria sitting at Abuja on Monday, October 23, 2023.
