Gerard Pique, a popular Spanish soccer player, has admitted to listening to Shakira’s diss track about their bitter breakup but refuses to discuss it.
Recall that Shakira stylishly took a swipe at her baby daddy Gerard Pique as she referenced him in her last song and music video, Monotonía, featuring Ozuna.
In the song titled ‘Monotony’ in English, Shakira starts with the Colombian singing in Spanish: ‘It wasn’t your fault, nor was it mine. It was monotony’s fault. I never said anything but it hurt me. I knew this would happen.’
She then alludes to the relationship being over before it ended, singing: ‘It’s a necessary goodbye. What used to be incredible became routine.
”Your lips don’t taste of anything to me. Now it’s the complete opposite.”
While appearing on the ‘El món’ program on RAC1 this week, Gerard was asked if he had heard the song.
‘Yes, obviously,’ the ex-soccer player replied, before adding: ‘I don’t want to talk about it’.
Referring to the two children he shares with Shakira, he continued: ‘We have a responsibility, those of us who are parents must protect our children. Each one makes their decisions. I don’t feel like talking anymore. I just want my children to be well.’
‘‘I have always had a close relationship with my children. Nothing makes me happier than making my son happy.”
“Each one makes the decisions that he believes are the best. I do things in a certain way, I try to do it in the best way. I am fine, happy.” He added.
