The spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Management Committee, Dino Melaye, has slammed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, over the ‘church rat and poisoned holy communion’ analogy.
Recall that Tinubu, while fielding questions about climate change at the Arewa Interactive Committee on Monday in Kaduna, described climate change as “a question of how do you prevent a church rat from eating poisoned holy communion?
“We are a poor nation. They say firewood is not for fetch. They say we need to plant more trees and they are not giving us money.
“We need to tell the West, if you don’t guarantee our finances and work with us to stop this, we are not going to comply with your climate change”, Tinubu said.
Reacting to the ‘poisoned holy communion’ bit, Melaye said the APC flag-bearer “must apologise” over what he deemed “offensive” to the sensibilities of Christians.
“Tinubu just insulted Christians and desecrated the holy sacrament. The Holy communion is for a divine reason called HOLY.
“To minimize it and ridicule it to a joke is insensitive and a further show of disregard to the Christian religion. Tinubu must apologize,” Melaye wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
