The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Haruna Garba, has issued an order for the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to assume control of the ongoing investigation into the alleged poisoning of Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John.
Ade-John, who has been hospitalized at the Federal Medical Centre, is reported to have suffered acute poisoning from an unknown source.
This significant development according to The Punch disclosed by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, during a telephone interview on Saturday.
“The CP has ordered the Mabushi Police Division that was investigating the matter to immediately transfer it to the SCID,” SP Adeh revealed.
Lola Ade-John, 60 years old and appointed as a minister by President Bola Tinubu in August, was admitted to a hospital in Abuja after exhibiting symptoms of illness. Her family members are deeply concerned about her condition, fearing that time is of the essence in their efforts to save her life.
As of Saturday morning, it was reported that she had spent five days at the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi.
The investigation into the alleged poisoning will now be overseen by the State Criminal Investigation Department, taking it to a new stage in the quest for answers surrounding this alarming incident.
