On Monday, December 4, the Borno State Police successfully neutralized an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) found at the University of Maiduguri’s entrance.
ASP Nahum Daso, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), disclosed that security personnel swiftly acted upon discovering a suspicious device near the university’s main gate around 9:00 a.m. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team quickly verified the fabricated IED.
Daso assured that the Command’s Explosive Ordnance Department (EOD) efficiently diffused the IED, ensuring the safety of lives and property without any harm.
Following the successful neutralization, the police command meticulously sanitized the area to guarantee ongoing safety. An investigation has been initiated to identify and apprehend those responsible for placing the explosive device, shedding light on their motives.
In response to the incident, Daso urged residents to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious objects or individuals to the nearest security agencies.
