Three months after launching an investigation into the deaths of Rachael Opadele and Olugbenga Owolabi, the Oyo State Police Command have arrested three people suspected to have killed their abductors after collecting N5 million ransom.
Briefing newsmen, Adewale Osifeso, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest of the suspected murderers on Thursday.
Rachel Opadele was a final-year student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology when she wrote her project, while Olugbenga Owolabi was an Ogbomoso-born hotelier who lived in the United States.
Owolabi’s body was flown to the United States for burial, while Opadele had already been laid to rest.
Recall that on August 8th, a combined security team of the Joint Security Task Force in Oyo State, also known as Operation Burst, and the Western Security Network code-named Amotekun stormed forests in Abaa, Surulere Local Government Area, Oyo, is on the hunt for the assassins of a final-year student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, a hotelier, and one other person.
