President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima, arrived at the Defence Guest House in Abuja’s Maitama district on Wednesday.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Director of Media and Publicity, revealed this in a video clip on Twitter on Wednesday, noting that the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, and his superior would be based in the Defence Guest House till Tinubu is sworn-in as President on May 29, 2023.
“President-elect Bola Tinubu with VP-elect Kashim Shettima moves to Defence House, his official residence pre-inauguration 29 May,” he said.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the victor of the Feb 25 presidential election.
Tinubu was declared the winner after getting the most votes of any of the 18 candidates (8,794,726 in total), meeting the first constitutional criteria.
Furthermore, he received more than 25% of the votes cast in 30 states, above the constitutional requirement of 25 states.
According to INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu who announced the final results, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP polled second and Peter Obi polled third.
