Activist and Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has aimed a humorous dig at ex-federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani, over his receding hairline.
Sani keeps an afro, which these days (it has to be said) is beginning to lose some of its sheen and bouffant.
Sowore, who has been campaigning for the legalisation of Cannabis in Nigeria for sometime now, tweeted that “Cannabis is illegal in Nigeria because they alleged that it will make people ‘run mad.’ But Nigeria itself is legal but it makes more people run mad every year and even kills more people than tobacco and alcohol, road accident and poison–paraphrasing somebody. #WeCantContinueLikeThis.”
While responding to Sowore’s tweet, Sani wrote: “Dear brother Sowore, if you win, please don’t legalise marijuana. Ganja will destroy our youth. We need no Rasta here.”
Sowore’s response was a tad acerbic and witty: “Great Comrade, four years ago I told you Cannabis hair products could help keep your beautiful Afro nurtured but you won’t listen. Now, I heard your Afro is disappearing, we will miss it. #WeCantContinueLikeThis.”
Sani replied with several laughter emojis and the words: “rather trimmed to the size of the economy.”
Awwww!!
An author, playwright and human rights activist, 55-year-old Shehu Sani represented Kaduna Central in the Nigerian Senate from 2015 to 2019. He is a sworn enemy of Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad Elrufai.
