With the opening match between hosts Qatar and Ecuador at the FIFA World Cup 2022 now only hours away, Â authorities have declared that only those with match tickets will be permitted to enter Qatar for the mundial, even though entry regulations to the nation were recently loosened.
It has taken Qatar 12 years to prepare for this competition, which starts on November 20, 2022.
Qatar defeated the USA in the final round of voting in 2010, to win the 2022 World Cup bid. Since the small nation was announced as host, fans around the world have been asking about how to get match tickets.
Fans can still purchase a small number of tickets through FIFA’s ticket gateway, and the organisation has confirmed that based on demand, they may still be sold up until the start of the competition.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 has four categories of tickets, with the most prestigious being Category One which roughly costs $5,000 all the way to the final.
However, fans have expressed their infuriation about the price disparity between the four tiers of Qatar 2022 access.
