In what looks like a bid to douse heated criticisms over his choice of a Muslim running mate, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said that he was rechristened “Abraham” by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

The former Governor of Lagos state said the RCCG general overseer called him father of nations the day that his wife, Remi, was ordained a pastor in the RCCG.
Pastor Adeboye is one of the Christian leaders in the country and heads one of the biggest Pentecostal churches in Nigeria.
The APC presidential candidate has been reeling in controversy over his choice to run with same faith, Muslim-Muslim ticket.

The APC presidential candidate has since incurred the anger of the Christian faith, the Northern Christians have vowed to work against his candidate, describing his choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket as Islamisation agenda.
However, in efforts to woo the angered Christian faith, the Lagos politician in a trending video, narrated how Adeboye called him Abraham when his wife, Remi, was ordained a pastor.
Tinubu said, “The day my wife was ordained a pastor, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me the name Abraham.
“I said what’s the meaning? He said the father of the nation,” he added.
