Social media has been inundated with pictures and videos of the protest which rocked the popular Iwo road, in Ibadan, Oyo State, over the scarcity of fuel and new Naira notes rocking the nation.
The Quest Times reports that Nigeria has been hit by biting fuel scarcity since 2022, with the problem further compounded by the scarcity of new Naira notes, following the CBN currency design policy.
Nigerians have spent long hours at queues in fuel stations and banks to access PMS and new Naira notes, whose scarcity has wreaked havoc on Nigerians and businesses alike.
In reaction to the lingering issues, some individuals staged a protest at Iwo road to express their dissatisfaction with the current scenario.
Unfortunately, parts of the protest degenerated into lawlessness as some cars and a bank were vandalised in the process.
Here are some reactions gathered by The Quest Times:
@DAMIADENUGA: It’s right to stage protest, but why vandalizing people’s property?. It’s not right on all level, we are hoping and praying for new Nigeria. But with what’s happening at iwo road, we are not ready.
