Queen Elizabeth II certified her place in British royal history as the longest-serving monarch, reigning for 70 years until Thursday, September 8, 2022, when she passed at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle, Scotland.
Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne on February 6, 1952, following the death of her father, King George VI.
Her 70-year reign witnessed unprecedented social changes; from the rapid decolonisation of the British Empire, The Troubles in Northern Ireland to BREXIT.
But her reign also witnessed an unprecedented number of Heads of State around the world.
