The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, held its first National Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, after its much-anticipated National Convention, conducted last month, where the Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee was dissolved and a new leadership was sworn-in by the President.
The President is joined by his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, other members of the National Working Committee, Board of Trustees, and state governors.
On the reason the APC national leader Bola Tinubu was absent at the NEC meeting, Tunde Rahman, who is a media aide to the presidential hopeful, in a chat with Punch said the APC constitution does not grant Tinubu permission to attend the meeting.

He noted that members of NEC are the President, VP, Senate President, Speaker, chairmen of the party in different states and members of the national executives of the party.
Rahman said, “Asíwájú is not a member of NEC. He is a member of the National Caucus. Members of NEC are the President, VP, Senate President, Speaker, State chairmen of the party and members of the national executives of the party.”
