A tanker exploded at the Lagos Quadrapont Bridge also known as Iganmu Bridge, the Lagos rescue team and LASTMA officials swooped into action to quench the raging fire.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) released a statement via X (formerly Twitter), on Thursday evening, “A tanker has gone up in flames just before Iganmu bridge from Sifax. LASTMA has already alerted the @LagosRescue. Our officers at the scene are doing their best to handle the situation”.
Similarly, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service equally, confirmed the incident via a tweet on X, it read, “Fire Alert!..in a related development, a tanker Fire is being combatted at the Lagos Quadrapont Bridge, by National Arts Theater, Iganmu as Sari Iganmu and Ilupeju Fire Crews combine efforts to tame the raging fire”.
However, operatives of both agencies were stationed at the scene to combat the raging inferno.
The accident occurred, some hours after a tanker conveying fuel, fell on the Otedola Bridge, Berger area of Lagos State. Although, no casualty was recorded, some residents in the area were seen scooping the content not minding the dangers involved.
Fortunately, the emergency workers were able to contain the situation.
