In a distressing incident that took place on January 7 at Sobande Close, Alagbole, Ajuwon, a bus driver named Philip Fiama lost his life after a heated confrontation with a co-tenant.
Quest Times reports that the tragic event unfolded around 6:30 pm, sending shockwaves through the community.
Fiama, originally from Adamawa State, confronted his co-tenant, Ikem Emmanuel, accusing him of having an affair with his wife.
The dispute escalated into a violent altercation, ultimately leading to Fiama being fatally stabbed by Emmanuel.
Despite efforts to rush the injured bus driver to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route.
Meanwhile, the alleged assailant, Ikem Emmanuel, fled the scene, leaving authorities to pursue his whereabouts.
Ogun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident on Friday, stating, “The incident happened on Sunday, January 7. A landlord from Sobande Close, Alagbole, Ajuwon, at around 8 pm on that day came to report that one Philip Fiama, a tenant, accused Ikem Chika Emmanuel, another tenant, of sleeping with his (Fiama’s) wife.
“This was reported to have led to a fight when Ikem Chika Emmanuel stabbed Fiama in the chest.”
Odutola further revealed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Abeokuta for thorough investigation.
