Twitter has been a hive of tweets following the Arise TV Presidential Town Hall series on Security and Economy which held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
There was early controversy following the lack of representation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and running mate, Sen Kashim Shettima, were no where to be seen, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was represented by his running mate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
Leading the lineup of present candidates was Peter Obi, flagbearer of the Labour Party; Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Mr Kola Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party (PDP).
The event was filled with drama from the get go, with some sections of the audience preventing Gov Okowa from speaking, stating that it is an event for presidential candidates, not running mates. But the Delta governor eventually got his chance to speak.
Also, there was other drama, as Peter Obi tackled PDP presidential spokesman, Dino Melaye over his constant heckling from the crowd.

@SadiqMaunde After watching Peter Obi and Kwankwaso today, the duo would’ve been the best thing that will happen to Nigeria. See how they both talk about their respective track records. Well done
@PastorGreatKing This Arise Tv town hall meeting/debate is not compulsory! Any Candidate can decide to not attend! So also is job interview. When a Candidate refuses to show up for a job interview, do you employ such Candidate? Vote wisely Nigerians!!!
@viqforlan Lmao I completely understand why Emilokan was absent tonight. He wouldn’t have survived this town hall meeting with the issues being discussed.
@Ambrosia_Ijebu If APC thought they could go through an entire Presidential campaign in the year of our Lord 2022 without subjecting their candidate to a proper intellectual debate, it is the duty of Nigerians to tell them this is not acceptable. On Election Day.
@Nun_River Clearly, Peter Obi is ready to serve. Please vote for him.

@Damocleansword it is very wrong to have those who are agents and surrogates of a campaign ask questions during a town hall like this.
@phoenix_agenda A presidential candidate that understands that the economy is diversified is one that is ready to work and knows what needs to be done. Anyone saying otherwise should be ignored. Nigeria’s problem is incompetent, incoherent and inconsistent economic policies.
@KnightSirdam The most intelligent Hausa man running for President is Kwankwaso. The most intelligent Igbo man running for President is Peter Obi. The most intelligent Yoruba man running for President is Kola Abiola.
@FS_Yusuf_ Kwankwaso and Peter Obi are inseparable o. Their bantering is interesting to watch.
