A former Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dele Alake, has said that Alpha Beta Consulting (ABC) does not belong to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He said those making the claims are “mentally lethargic.”
Alake said this while featuring as a guest on Channels Television’s SUNDAY POLITICS.
Alake who is also the Director of Strategic Communication of the Tinubu Presidential Campaign, said the company was instituted to block revenue leakages within the public sector in Lagos State when he was elected Governor in 1999.
“With the mechanism of Alpha Beta, they did not increase taxes. What he did was to widen the tax net and the IGR. When we were leaving in 2007, the IGR was nearing the N7b mark. That is incontrovertible”, he said.
When asked who owns the Alpha Beta company, he said “Alpha Beta company is not owned by Tinubu to the best of my knowledge.”
He challenged anyone who has evidence that the company belongs to Tinubu to come forward.
He said: “Is it the ownership of Alpha Beta that is of prime importance or the achievements of the objectives of Alpha Beta?
“Those ascribing the ownership of Alpha Beta to Tinubu are simply jealous. They are people who are mentally lethargic to ideas with enduring legacies. Whoever does successfully becomes a target of attacks.”
