A former Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dele Alake, has said that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s fight against corruption paid huge dividends as Governor of Lagos state.
The former Commissioner said Tinubu’s fight against corruption led Lagos state to save over N350billion.
Alake said this while featuring as a guest on Channels Television’s SUNDAY POLITICS.
According to him, Tinubu introduced the biometric system in payroll management in the state.
When the biometric system was introduced into the Lagos Civil Service, he said “Many Civil Servants resisted it. Many of them are still alive. Tinubu insisted using his knowledge as an auditor in the corporate world which showed him that when the revenue is going down, there must be leakages. The first point to start is to block the loopholes.”
After the exercise, Alake said over N350billion was saved from ghost workers on the state’s payroll.
